Sea World on the Gold Coast in Australia has confirmed that Leviathan, the new wooden roller coaster, will be opening on 3 September 2022.

It is part of The New Atlantis, a $50 million expansion that will be opening in phases.

The new development will include three new thrill rides; a Top Spin called Vortex, a Sky Flyer named Trident and an impressive wooden roller coaster titled Leviathan.

Vortex

Opened on 21 December 2020

This brand new attraction takes guests on a thrilling adventure as they experience forces of up to 5g, speeds of 30 km/h and a height of 18 m.

Leviathan

Opening on 3 September 2022

Experience the rumbling, roaring, thundering crests and a 32 m towering track of a wooden roller coaster, while discovering the classical ruins and restorations of the old. This new roller coaster will become an icon of the Gold Coast.

The Gravity Group are teaming up with Martin & Vleminckx on the project, and their Timberliner trains will have even have some backwards facing seats. The new roller coaster will be 105 ft tall with a track length of 3,208 ft, reaching speeds of up to 50 mph. It will be the tallest, fastest and longest wooden roller coaster in Australia.

Trident

The brand-new Trident will become one of Sea World’s newest and tallest landmarks as it lifts and spins you 52 m in the air while experiencing spectacular views of The New Atlantis.
