The New Atlantis precinct is the park’s crown jewel—a $50 million expansion that includes three adrenaline-pumping attractions:
- Leviathan, Australia’s tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster, delivers a thundering, unforgettable ride (including optional backward-facing seats for the truly brave!).
- Vortex spins riders through forces of up to 5g in a swirling aquatic-inspired experience.
- Trident lifts you 52 metres into the air, offering stunning views of the park from above before spinning through the sky.
Add to that favourites like the Storm Coaster, Jet Rescue, and the fun-filled Nickelodeon Land, and you’ve got a theme park experience that hits every mark.

Sea World Resort: Stay Where You Play
What sets Sea World apart is its integrated resort—Australia’s only theme park resort. We stayed in a spacious Water View Room with two queen beds, ideal for families or small groups. The room was well-appointed with all the essentials: Wi-Fi, cable TV, bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities, a balcony with Broadwater views, and thoughtful touches that made it feel like a proper holiday base.
The resort also boasts a lagoon pool, an aquatic playground for the kids, and a selection of dining options from relaxed à la carte to generous buffets. And with the Theme Parks Package, we had unlimited access to four incredible parks throughout our stay—unbeatable value for theme park lovers.

Sea World Carnivale: Nights Come Alive
Visiting during summer? Don’t miss Sea World Carnivale, a seasonal after-dark event filled with exotic food, themed precincts (from Rio to New Orleans), and breath-taking live entertainment. The Aqua Light Show is a highlight—an explosion of colour, sound, and water that lights up the night sky. And yes, many of the rides run after dark too, adding a whole new thrill to the experience!

Sea World Helicopters: A Sky-High Perspective
For a touch of luxury and adventure, we booked the Coastal City Experience with Sea World Helicopters. This 10-minute scenic flight gave us sweeping views of Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, and the sparkling ocean beyond. Flying past the iconic Q1 Building and over Stradbroke Island gave us a fresh appreciation of the Gold Coast’s beauty—it was one of the most memorable moments of our trip.

Sea World Cruises: Dinner with a View
To round off the experience, we took the Gold Coast Buffet Dinner Cruise with Sea World Cruises—and it was pure magic. Aboard the Spirit of Elston, we cruised the calm waterways while enjoying live music, incredible food made from local produce, and drinks under the stars. The rooftop deck offered a perfect vantage point to take in the glittering skyline of Surfers Paradise, Marina Mirage, and beyond. This is a must-do for couples and anyone celebrating something special.
